Panasonic Released a Cray-shee Ash DMC-GF1 CameraBy John Kim | November 3rd, 2009 |

I have to admit that I fell into the world of the DSLR revolution, and have been loving it ever since. Leaving behind the comforts of the point-and-shoot, and venturing into manually controlling the camera is a milestone for every aspiring photographer. After owning my DSLR for over two years, I’ve somewhat mastered its functionality. But every now and then, laying down in bed late at night, and wearing nothing but my Hanes, I reminisce. I think about how easy it was to know exactly what I was capturing before pressing the shutter button. I remember the comforts of having a camera tucked away in my jean pockets, ready to capture at a moments notice. What happened to those days? why can’t I have my cake and eat it too? Why does the wii give me a nasty case of tennis elbow? And how come we can’t combine the ease of the point-and-shoot with the control and flexibility of a DSLR? I said Why? answer me dammit!!!
Well this handsome Korean man shall wait no more, as Panasonic has released the worlds smallest and lightest digital interchangeable camera. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 sports the ease of a compact camera, with the power of a DSLR all in one freaking awesome package. It features a 12.1 Mega Pixel Sensor, and can record 1280 x 720 HD video. Also with a wide array of Leica lenses (Probably the best lens in the whole wide world), I can have a lens for every type of situation imaginable. Plus with a hot shoe support, I’m able to strobe to my hearts desire.
The best part is that I no longer have to look into a small hole to frame my shots, I can now spoil myself with the the live view on a large lcd screen. And with the smaller size, I can hold all this power right in the pocket of my jeans. Go away large roll of quarters in jean pocket, make room for my new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF1.
The only downside to all this awesomeness is the same downside with all interchangeable lens cameras. The dreaded dust particles!!!!!! Well hopefully with the Dust Reduction System vibrating at 50,000 times per second, you can murder all those pesky dust particles. I hope all those dust particles rot in hell, take them out Dust Reduction System, I will definitely holocaust their ash.
Some other notable features is it’s advanced face recognition technology that can recognize up to 6 faces. This camera can pick out a person in a crowd and makes sure that person is in sharp focus, while the rest of the douche bags can be out of focus. Who cares about them, all you care about is that one person in the crowd, whoever that lucky individual might be. You can also sort those faces easily in the camera, so you are able to find that girl you’ve been stalking for over 10 years. Throw that restraining order out the window, with the Panasonic DMC-GF1 in your hands, you better take lots of pictures my friend, and let the law sort the rest out.
So for those camera enthusiasts, you should know that the reason the Panasonic DMC-GF1 can be so small is because it is completely mirror less. This new type of camera is called a Micro Four Thirds Camera, and it might be what the DSLR was a few years ago. But you can bet that late at night, in nothing but my Hanes, I will be thinking. But not thinking about ‘why’, but about ‘when’ I will get my grubby hands on the new Panasonic DMC-GF1 Camera.
