Here’s a little something about myself if you didn’t know. I have a background in computer science, I’ve worked nearly 4 years as a web developer, specializing in e-commerce, and most importantly I’m not really fond of people telling me what to do. What does this melting pot of information tell you about me? It tells you that I’m 100% ready to start my own damn business in online retail.
I’m very excited to announce the launch of Pixics. For the last 2 months I’ve been working hard to get Pixics up and running, which is why I’ve put this blog on the back burner. And if there’s anything I’ve learned from this experience, is that you will make plenty of mistakes until you finally reach your groove. When it comes to developing a site, I really don’t need anyone to explain how that works. I’m a professional web developer, I understand what it takes. But the whole concept of finding the right products to sell was a whole other ball game. I told my wife that if I only knew what I knew today 2 months ago, then setting up Pixics would’ve been a breeze. But nothing really comes easy, and with the mistakes comes growth.
So what is Pixics all about? This can be explained in four simple words. Indie, Vintage, Retro, Geek. Me and my wife have always been interested in stores such as Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, and Sanrio. So when we were sitting around brainstorming what Pixics should sell it all came down to melding together everything we love and sell it. I will admit that the concept of Pixics isn’t special, there are a dozen sites that do the same thing as us. But hopefully our products will be unique and fabulous enough to drive sales.
So Pixics is really the brainchild of me and my wife, it’s something we dreamed up 2 years ago. What lies ahead for this company will be both scary and great, so I’ll end with this. Check out Pixics, if you love what we’ve got then support us, but we won’t be mad if it’s not your cup of tea. Use the Promo Code ‘GRAND225‘ in the cart and get 25% Off your order, good until June 30th, 2011.
Here’s some pics of items I love from my store.
