Photo and Retouch Work By Erik JohanssonBy John Kim | July 20th, 2011
|

I’m a big fan of mixing real photos and doing extensive retouching to create surreal works of art. I believe last year I wrote a little article about how that’s the new form of photography these days. Well Erik Johansson really is my new inspiration. I feel like I’m pretty good at Photoshop, but this guy is on a whole new level compared to me. He must be using some other kinds of tools I’m completely unaware of. Well I do know that the new version Photoshop does have 3D features, so he must be mixing that. The thing is that when you look at something and say to yourself that there’s no way you could do that, then that’s true ART. Enjoy the rest of his works.

Ashley Family PortriatBy John Kim | July 19th, 2011
|

Ashley is originally from San Diego, and when she asked us to do a family photo shoot it looks like we were going to do a little road trip. We had scheduled to meet up at Balboa Park in the afternoon which gave us time to really look around and prepare. I’ve never been to Balboa, but it was huge and very crowded. Crowded locations always creates a challenge for photographers, but luckily we found a few secluded areas.

Barack Obama Hip HopBy John Kim | July 18th, 2011

I found this interesting video that shows Barack Obama rapping. It is very cheesy and the guy doing the impression looks more like Tiger Woods than Barack Obama. Anyways it’s mildly humorous, so enjoy it.

Pixics Review From Beauty and AikidoBy John Kim | July 17th, 2011

Thanks Silvia Pebble of Beauty and Aikido for the awesome review. I have to admit, the shirt looked awful on the model we used, but she really made it look great.

Great Rant About Being Emotionally Involved in SportsBy John Kim | July 16th, 2011
|
As a kid, I was a real big fan of the Lakers, and this was before Kobe and Shaq. The two stars were Nick Van Axel and Eddie Jones. But as time went on and players got traded, I realized that the Lakers no longer were the Lakers that I knew. At least in college basketball, every person on that team is from that school, but why shouldn’t every person on the Lakers be from LA? Does it make sense to live and die for a team that is a constant revolving door of new faces?
So if you break it down what you have is a brand that represents nothing, and ordinary people being emotionally invested in watching millionaires playing a game. Also these millionaires don’t know who you are or care about you. This is a real wacko world we live in. I’d rather play basketball than watch millionaires play. And this is why it’s a much better experience to watch World Cup Soccer, or the Olympics.

Yoshi Pillow Pet GiveawayBy John Kim | July 14th, 2011
|

Yes, it seems like Pixics is having another Giveaway. And we feel that this prize is even better than the one we gave out on our last giveaway. Pillow Pets are all the craze now a days, but you always get some generic character like a lady bug or a bee. But how often do you see a Yoshi Pillow Pet? I don’t think that often, and this literally is our last Yoshi Pillow Pet. We will try to get more, but they are selling out fast.
