Why Drugs Should Be LegalBy John Kim | December 10th, 2008 |
Junkies filling our streets, the collapse of society, this is what people envision when they hear about drugs being legal. I’ve never lived in a time where drugs were ever legal, nor do I know anyone, so I can’t say if a degradation of society would actually occur. But the statistical data that exists on this “War on Drugs” is very scary. Many robberies are committed by druggies desperate for some cash to support their habits. Drug cartels are making billions, and they become as powerful as the countries they live in. Tax payer money is spent in the billions of dollars to employ people to fight this drug war, and no progress has been made. The reality is that making drugs illegal is creating more harm then good.

Poor kids are dumb!By John Kim | December 8th, 2008 |
There was a study done by Berkley researchers, and they’ve uncovered that kids raised in low income families has an intelligence level similar to a person that’s gone through a stroke. Apperantly the Pre-frontal cortex controls higher level thinking and problem solving, and these children had a very underdeveloped pre-frontal cortex. Lower income children had problems paying attention, remembering details, and language development. The cause is said to be from the stress of their environment, and malnutrition in their diet.
The scary part is that dumb children ends up becoming dumb adults, which leads them to do dumb things in society. Good news is that the dumbness can be reversed, the bad news is that who will dedicate their time to help all those dumb kids. Also with our economy going into the toilet I feel like there are more dumb kids on the way. Bleek I know.

Disaster in NevadaBy John Kim | December 2nd, 2008 |
Ever have those moments where one event causes a chain reaction of other events which results to one of the worst vacations ever? This was my experience this past weekend. Since last year, me and my family have been taking trips to Vegas on thanksgiving. I don’t know if it’s the smell of raw sewage in the air, or all those immigrants passing out free porn, but we seem to be drawn to this city. The Vegas trip a year ago went off without a hitch, we went there, watched Mama Mia, ate at the buffets. So why should I think any differently this time around? But life has a way playing tricks on you. So instead of writing a “What to do guide” of my Vegas experience, I’m inclined to give a play by play of my weird trip.
