The Single Mother with 14 children

By John Kim | January 30th, 2009

The world is in crisis, we are having a population explosion, and it’s wreaking havoc on our environment. Did you know that in the 1950’s there were only about 2.5 billion people on this earth. Out of all the millenniums of human history we were left with only 2.5 billion people in the 1950’s. In only 60 years from that time we are now stuck with 6.5 billion people, and that number keeps growing. With this many people on earth, we are crowding out every other living species, human suffering has increased, and because of our lust for energy we are warming up this planet like a microwave. I’m afraid for this planets survival, so when I hear a story about a women (Nadia Sulaiman) from Bellflower California having 8 babies, with 6 children prior, I get real upset. I feel this women should have no support from anyone, and should live with her children in a homeless shelter. Irresponsibility such as this should not be rewarded.

Car Trouble

By Jenny Kim | January 21st, 2009

Dear Diary,

On January 18th 2009, I was coming home from church after teaching my Sunday School class. While I was driving back home my tires popped, and I started losing control of my steering wheel.  The car directly behind me was tailgaiting and it nearly hit me while I was trying to change lanes.  I was lucky though, because there weren’t many cars on the road, but if it was a regular weekday then I probably wouldn’t be writing this right now.  So after I parked the car, I called my husband, and he ended up running 2 miles from our apartment to rescue me *haha*. I’m such a lucky girl.

Retro Baby

By John Kim | January 18th, 2009

I recently read this blog from homemakerbarbi.com and it was describing retro 80’s baby clothes.

The website is called Retro Babies, and they have the cutest clothes for babies at the site. If you are a child of the 80’s and you love to live life through your children, then check out retro baby. This will give you a good trip down memory lane, without the side effect of feeling old.

Gabe Bandoc

By John Kim | January 8th, 2009

A filipino singer/songwriter I discovered online. I love his song about Gentlemen, it’s a very beautiful song. I’m not actually sure if he wrote this song, but if he did, then kudo’s. I’ll keep my slanted eyes on this guy, not in a sexual manner though.

I got a video embedded for anyone one facebook, click to read more on this.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

By Jenny Kim | January 4th, 2009

Dear Diary,

On January 1, 2009 we had finished watching the Rose Parade in Pasadena, and it was the first time we had seen it in person. Knowing that it would be pretty crowded near the parade grounds, we figured that we would take the metro rail there. When nearing closer to the parade the metro was getting more and more crowded, but I prefer this over trying to find parking for 1 hour. I won’t sugar coat my metro experience though, I admit to a few scary moments on our way to Pasadena. Midway into our trip there was a drunk white guy talking in a ghetto accent, and I couldn’t understand a single word that came out his filthy mouth. The few words that did make sense was when he told my husband about how his dad died for him in Korea. What the heaven? Anyways, he smells like he didn’t take a bath for years, and we tried our best to not give him eye contact.

Best Baby Names of 2008

By Jenny Kim | December 28th, 2008

Two days before Christmas, Richard Walker Sault made a big entrance into this world, weighing about 14 pounds.  He was sent home from the hospital, at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills because none of the clothes fits him.  After seeing the news on the biggest baby ever born in Orange County, I decided to compile a list of best baby names of 2008.

My take on Bruce Pardo the Santa Shooter

By John Kim | December 27th, 2008

If you haven’t caught the news in the past few days, you would probably have heard of a man dressed up as Santa Killing 9 people and himself.  His name is Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, and the ones who died were family members of his ex wife.  The full story isn’t known, but it’s expected that this tragic event was triggered from his recent divorce.

Police Brutality

By John Kim | December 27th, 2008

Remember that the only difference between cops and robbers is that cops are the lesser of two evils. The lesson you can take away from this is that power corrupts, so thank goodness for hidden cameras.
